Invitations. Attire. Flowers. Decor. Cake. Lighting.

There are so many moving parts to a wedding, it’s easy to get overwhelmed and
lose that cohesive sense of flow that makes the entire event feel well-put-together.
From the bridal details to the ceremony aesthetic to the reception decor,
every aspect is an opportunity to emphasize the couple’s style (and lifestyle!) together -
which is exactly what Erica & Jay accomplished with flying colors!

Today’s post is what we think of as the “anatomy” of a wedding -
the little pieces that add up for a big impact.

Details-appreciation post ahead!

The JW Marriott’s Calusa Terrace features stunning views of open skyline and gorgeous waterfront.
It paired perfectly with the fresh citrus and organic wicker of the ceremony decor.
Tom Trovato is always bringing such creativity to his work!

The Bridal Bouquet: Styles & Options

We L.O.V.E. floral bouquets!

The bridal bouquet serves so many different purposes.
It’s a source of beauty and inspiration… It can compliment the bride’s gown design and bring out the qualities she loves most…
It can emphasize the rest of the wedding design & decor, offering one more way to reinforce the atmosphere the couple wanted for their big day. And, when dried and preserved, it can be a fun momento of the best. day. ever!

This month, we thought it might be fun to review a collection of the bridal bouquets we’ve seen at MSP.
Then we realized, that would be pretty impossible… no two have ever been alike, and they are all so amazing!
So instead, we decided to create a quick “guide” to the floral bouquet, as seen from a photog’s perspective (florist friends out there, no judging!). Maybe it will even help you describe to your floral artist what you envision for your own wedding!

This blog is a compilation of work from designers across the country - roll over each image for appropriate credits ❤️

-Natural-

According to Martha Stewart Weddings, the “natural” arrangement is the most popular choice for weddings. It has an easy, effortlessly elegant look that fits all kinds of styles - based on the chosen flower types and the positioning, it can skew anywhere from bohemian to classic! The natural shape (see what we did there?) is organic, and looks amazing from every angle.

-Round-

On the other end of the shape-spectrum is the “round” bouquet style. This arrangement is crafted to look like a big ball of blooms, and offers a structured, formal aesthetic. MSW suggests sticking with one main type of flower for this style to help it look its best. Lots of variety can still be had here, as you can emphasize a palette with a monochrome color,
or select a variety of colors to help create the perfect bouquet!

-Posy-

Just as classic as the “round” style, the “posy” design features mostly flowers (versus greenery)
and is sized to fit perfectly in your hands. While still round-ish, “posy” bouquets are less structured than their “round” cousins,
and are usually wrapped with ribbon. Just TRY not to think of a lush garden when seeing these beauties below!

-Teardrop & Cascade-

“Teardrop” style bouquets are shaped… well, like teardrops! Round at the top and pointed at the bottom,
”teardrop” bouquets can range from structured to more organic and loose.
”Cascade” style is like “teardrop”, but on an energy drink 💥
Typically more loosely styled and lush, the cascade bouquet sweeps down with floral and greenery to all kinds of different lengths. Think of it as a dramatic waterfall of flowers and greenery - it’s sure to make a statement!
